Travel Operators Do's
- Keep a list of all yatris travelling with you and stay in
touch till yatra is complete
- Keep the vehicle (especially breaks & tyres) in good
condition
- The descending vehicle on the slopes should give way to
ascending vehicle.
- Carry all necessary documents of vehicle along. Before
starting the journey, all commercial passenger vehicles should invariably obtain the
green card from any of the transport offices at Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun. The
green card is given after technical examination of vehicles and it is a compilation
of the registration certificate, valid permit, insurance certificate, Tax payment
certificate, driving and conductor's license.
- Take breaks in journey every 4-6 hours, treat all yatris
with care & respect
- Carry a first aid box in vehicle and help sick yatri to
reach nearby hospital
- Vehicle to be ONLY driven by experienced person
- Periodical eye test is advised for every person driving a
vehicle
- Always use the horn on the bends.
- The descending vehicle on the slopes should give way to
ascending vehicle.

Travel Operators Don’ts
- Do not overload a vehicle
- Don’t speed and overtake in hills, respect the other
vehicles
- Do not park on road and don’t honk unnecessarily
- Don’t drive too fast on the bends in hills
- Don’t drive between 9pm -5am in hills
- Don’t drink while driving
- Don’t overcharge passengers
- Don’t operate loud music
